This is the hottest thing since sliced bread..! I picked it up today
from ENR Tech in Burbank
California.
It is a stright forward modem, plug this gizmo into your phone line
and then detect the BlueTooth device on your BlueTooth enabled PDA,
such as my Sony Clie NZ90. I had Earthlink setup and working about 3
minutes after I opned the box.
Once connected the connection is rock solid and I have been able to
wander around with my clie without any problems. To make things even
cooler, The Clie batteries uses less power to drive the Bluetooth than
for the WiFi card. This is positively the ultimate hotel "hook
up" for road warriors..!
How to.
Start by plugging the BlueGate into the power supply and the phone line,
remember this is for analog phone lines.
Then go to the settings panel on your Palm,
Click on Setings, Select Bluetoth.
Set "Bluetooth" to Enable.
Select "Allow Device to be Discovered" Yes.
Then click on "Trusted Devices"
Click on "Add Device".
Once the modem is found Click on it and enter the PassKey found on the
sticker under the modem.
Click Done.
Next select Settings / Connections
Click on "NEW"
Name the connection (Mine is called BlueTooth Modem)
Select "Connect to = Modem"
Via = Bluetooth
Next to the word Device it say "click to discover" you need
to click here to let the connection find the bluetooth modem.
OK you are done with the connection.
Press Done.
Select Settings / Network
Select Service = Earthlink (Or the ISP you use for Dial Up}
Enter your username and password,
Then select Connection = Bluetooth Modem
Finally enter your local dialup number.
That is it, you are done - click on CONNECT and proceed to check your
e-mail. Happy Bluetooth surfing.
